I'm a Technical Writer and Knowledge Manager based in Portugal.
I came to this work from software engineering — almost a decade of it, across telecoms, insurance, and research. I have an MSc in AI from the University of Leeds. At some point I realised I cared less about building systems than about making sure people could actually understand and use them.
I believe documentation matters. Not as a formality, not as something you do after the real work is done — but as the thing that determines whether knowledge stays inside one person's head or becomes useful to everyone else. Most organisations treat it as an afterthought. I find that genuinely frustrating, which is probably why I ended up making it my job.
I like explaining things. I like finding the right structure for complicated information. And I think knowledge sharing — done properly — is one of the most underrated things a team can invest in.
